About Eray

Life is a journey with many paths. For the most part, we are blessed with free will to choose the paths to our appointed destiny. So, my life is the story of my quest to do the best I could do wherever my paths have led me and to be the very vest at opportunities afforded me.

This is my life – Edward Ray (Eray) Honeycutt!! All right, so I didn’t discover a cure for cancer or scale Mount Everest, but there aren’t many people who successfully owned 10 restaurants and watering holes up and down California’s magnificent coast. Or co-piloted a $1.5 million dollar yacht 69,000 nautical miles.

These achievements might not impress some people, but when I look back at where I started and how little encouragement I received from the people who counted most to me, I feel good about my life, comfortable enough to share it with you.

I begin my story in 1992, when a home invader attacked me and left me for dead. After that, my story progresses chronologically from my birth; save for a few exceptions when I finished telling about a person or place that would not be appropriate to relate later on.

My varied extra-career interests – boating, flying, collecting automobiles, and enjoying a variety of animals – run parallel to my career endeavors. I have interwoven stories about these interests along with whatever else was happening to me in a particular year or decade.

Above all, my story is about not settling for whatever life tosses my way. It’s about the struggle to find myself, to become the best person I can be, and in the process, to enjoy life, work hard, strengthen my relationship with God, love myself and love others.

In looking back over years of happiness and heartbreak, I have become more resolute about my philosophy. More certain than ever that life is indeed what you put into it. And heaven is not somewhere up in the outer reaches of our universe. Heaven is what we make it right here on Earth.
